Great Crested Flycatcher

We took one Sunday to travel east to the Hatchie National Wildlife Refuge in western Tennessee. On the opposite side of the lake, we saw a beaver scratching himself on a log. Berry spotted a White Breasted Nuthatch (Sitta Carolinensis) climbing up the side of a tree. We enjoyed ourselves.

Our Bird of the Day was the Great Crested Flycatcher (Myiarchus Crinitus).

We saw the Great Crested Flycatcher twice that day. Once in a tree next to the lake. The second time in some brush alongside a back road. Handsome bird.
